Dr. Elaine Sullivan

Dr. Sullivan has served as a Non-Executive Director since 2025.
Dr. Sullivan has extensive board expertise, having served as a Non-Executive Director at international public companies including IP Group plc, Evotec AG, Active Biotech AB and Nykode Therapeutics ASA. Current board appointments include Zealand Pharmaceuticals, hVIVO Services Ltd and Ochre Bio. In addition, she is a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of Poolbeg Pharma plc.
Dr. Sullivan brings 25+ years of international experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry, including senior R&D leadership roles. Throughout her career, she has developed new molecules in therapy areas including virology, cancer, ophthalmology, respiratory and inflammation.
In 2015, Dr. Sullivan founded a specialist oncology company, Carrick Therapeutics, and served as its CEO until 2019. From 2011 to 2015, she served as the Vice President Global External Research & Development in the US for Eli Lilly. She was also a member of the Investment Committees of Lilly Ventures and Lilly Asian Ventures as well as a member of the Steering Committees of Lilly’s Capital Fund Partners.
Dr. Sullivan spent over 15 years at AstraZeneca, holding several leadership roles, including Vice President of Science & Technology and Vice President of R&D New Opportunities.
She was named Ernst & Young Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year (Ireland) in 2018.
Dr. Sullivan holds a BSc (Hons) in Molecular Biology from the University of Glasgow and a PhD in Molecular Virology from the University of Edinburgh.
